(By Xu Ran, Zhao Xiaoyu) On the morning of March 27, the signing ceremony for the SEB-Supor Scholarship took place at the Supor Building in Hangzhou. The ceremony was attended by Dong Zhuoning, Director of the Hangzhou International Innovation Institute of Beihang University (H3I), Zhang Wei, Vice Director of H3I, and Chen Chao, Director of International Cooperation Office of H3I. Also in attendance were Thierry de LA TOUR D'ARTAISE, Chairman of Groupe SEB, Vincent TAI, Chairman Asia and Senior Strategic Advisor, and Ye Jide, Vice President of Zhejiang Supor Co., Ltd.
Jointly established by Groupe SEB and Zhejiang Supor Co., Ltd., the SEB-Supor Scholarship is designed for full-time students enrolled in Sino-French cooperation programs at H3I. The scholarship is dedicated to facilitating the Institute’s education initiatives. It will provide students with stronger support and more opportunities for self-development, thereby inspiring them to strive for excellence.
Establishing the SEB-Supor Scholarship, which is the first social donation scholarship received by H3I since its establishment, represents a solid step taken by the Institute in school-enterprise cooperation and industry-education integration. Moreover, the scholarship has set an exemplary model for building an ecosystem of collaborative innovation among industry, academia, and research. It has thus injected new momentum into H3I for the construction of a globally competitive platform featuring the integration of industry, academia, and research.
At the signing ceremony, Dong Zhuoning said that the establishment of the SEB-Supor Scholarship had taken the three-party cooperation to a higher level. It is also an important measure to promote the integrated and coordinated development of education, science and technology, and human resources. He emphasized that school-enterprise cooperation was crucial for the training of outstanding engineers. He hoped that the scholarship would encourage more outstanding students to engage in scientific research and innovation, thereby injecting new momentum into industrial development.
Thierry de LA TOUR D'ARTAISE highly recognized the educational achievements of H3I. He pointed out that Groupe SEB always attached great importance to investing in and carrying out talent development and technological innovation initiatives. The establishment of the SEB-Supor Scholarship is not only a vivid embodiment of corporate social responsibility but also an important practice in deepening the integration of industry, academia, and research. He hoped that both parties could fully leverage their respective advantages and work together to drive collaborative innovation in engineering education and in industrial development.
In the presence of all the guests, representatives from both parties officially signed the Scholarship Donation Agreement. Following that, Dong Zhuoning presented a thank-you letter on behalf of H3I to Thierry de LA TOUR D'ARTAISE and Groupe SEB.
Founded in 1857, Groupe SEB is a globally leading manufacturer of small home appliances. The group has forged a close school-enterprise cooperation with INSA (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées) Lyon as a long-term strategic partner to carry out collaboration in scholarship funds, employment guidance, and academic exchanges. Additionally, the group’s technology R&D center has collaborated extensively with INSA Lyon.
Beihang University and Groupe INSA signed a strategic cooperation agreement in March 2024 to jointly explore new models for the training of international elite engineers. In June of the same year, a delegation from Groupe INSA visited the Hangzhou International Campus of Beihang University, where they attended a seminar on the role of enterprises in the training of outstanding engineers to explore innovative paths to the integration of industry and education. The close cooperation between Groupe SEB and INSA Lyon has provided valuable experience for the coordinated development of international engineering education. Meanwhile, the comprehensive cooperation between H3I and Groupe INSA has laid a solid foundation for further developing innovative mechanisms for the training of international engineers.

Facilitated by Groupe INSA, H3I, and SEB-Supor Group established official contact in June 2024. In August of the same year, the two parties signed a framework agreement on university-enterprise cooperation, reaching cooperation intentions across multiple areas, including training and continued education, establishment of scholarships, scientific research, and student internships and employment. In September 2024, executives from the SEB-Supor Group attended the opening ceremony for the 2024 freshmen of Zhongfa Aviation Institute (ZFAI), where a university-enterprise strategic partnership plan was jointly unveiled. In less than a year, the collaboration has continued to advance, and this scholarship agreement has served as an important milestone, marking a new phase in which the partnership transitions from framework consensus to tangible resource commitment.
