The autumn rain dispelled the heat of summer. This early fall sees the arrival of joyful students on the campus. On August 29th, when the freshmen of Beihang University came for registration, Beihang Hangzhou International Campus also welcomed the freshmen of Promotion 2023, the inaugural batch of students of Zhongfa Aviation Institute of Beihang University. These dynamic group of students all with their expectations and aspirations are about to open a new chapter in life.
Onthe morning of the 29th, Zhao Changlu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Beihang University, Huang Haijun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President, Zhang Yaotian, Yang Lijun, Zhao Weisheng and other university leadership, together with Sun Qingfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of ZFAI, and Hong Guanxin, Director of ZFAI, had cordially exchanges withthe new arrivals, extended warm welcome and heartfelt congratulations to them. He also presented French dictionaries to the students, encouraging them to work diligently and strive forward towards the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
In the afternoon, Secretary Zhao Changlu, Fang Yi, Member of the Standing Committee of Hangzhou Municipal Committee and Leading Party Members’ Group of the municipal government, andTang Liyu, Memberof the Standing Committee of Yuhang District Committee and deputy head of the district, went to the dormitory to visit the freshmen. "Where are you from?" "How do you feel about the dormitory?" "What’s your hobby?" Secretary Zhao Changlu had cordial conversations with the freshmen, enquiries about their orientation and move-in in detail,listened carefully to their opinions and suggestions, and encouraged them to study hard, be independent, adapt to college life as soon as possible for a new chapter intheir lives.
In the early morning of the same day, in order to ensure the smooth registration of freshmen and deliver warmth to the incoming students and parents, ZFAIvolunteers welcomed students with shuttle service from major transportation junctions suchas Hangzhou West Railway Station, Hangzhou East Railway Station, Hangzhou South Railway Station and Hangzhou International Airport to the campus.
At the campus gate, the familiar "Beihang Blue" can be seen at a glance, and "Hello, New Students BONJOUR" is eye-catching.
On campus, enthusiastic staff and volunteers patiently guide and helpstudents, and shuttle cart helped to transport luggage to and from the registration hall and the student dormitory.

The atmosphere on the site was warm and orderly. Freshmen went through various registration procedures one by one at each window in order, such as identity information verification, face information collection,bank card activation,registration materials collection... Staff and volunteers patiently answer their enquiries, and the "one-stop" service isthoughtful and efficient.
After the registration,the studentssettled down in their new places and enjoy the delicious "First Meal at ZFAI" with their families in our warm and clean canteen.
At the registration hall, students and parents could watch live the welcoming activities on the Beijing campus on the Smart Media Screen for the orientation. The progress of registration at the two campuses is displayed in real time.
Creativity makes the day more memorable. Standing in front of the signature wall, the freshmen signed their names on the acrylic boards and carefully inserted the cards into the card slots, which were arranged to spellZFAI.
A time capsule is a container of memory and a prediction of future. Freshmen wrote down notes with expectations of becoming better selves to be kept in the capsules.
"Having a lofty ambition, dare to be the first in the world", "Care for the motherland, serve the people", "Serving our country through aerospace endeavors, strive to be the first"... On the cards with message from masters, there are infinite expectations for the new members of the Beihang family.
In the Cultural Experience Zone, thereis not only "Dingsheng Cake", a Hangzhou specialty pastry, but also Crêpe, a traditional French pancake. Take a bite and for the taste of Chinese and French cuisines.
On the wall of Zhang Ruizhe's house, there is a calligraphy of Beihang University, and he is also one of the "lucky ones" who received a gift from Secretary Zhao Changlu. "I am very excited to receive the French dictionary presented by Secretary Zhao, and we deeply feel the care and love from Beihang University for us, the inaugural batch of students.
