Onthe afternoon of August 17, the expert demonstration meeting on the construction plan of the general technology research and education platform for engineers was held at the Zhongfa Aviation Institute of Beihang University. A total of seven experts, including Professor Li Shuangshou, director of Tsinghua's Fundamental Industry Training Center and vice director of Engineering Education Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education (expert group leader), Professor Zheng Zhijun, director of the Engineering Training Center of South China University of Technology and member of Engineering Education Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, Professor Han Xiuqin, vice director of the Engineering Training Center of Harbin Institute of Technology and member of Engineering Education Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, Professor Xiong Zhenhua, secretary of the Engineering Training Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Shen Hongyao, vice president of the of Advanced Machines Zhejiang University, Professor Wu Ruilin, vice director of Financial Department and director of the Discipline Construction Division of Beihang University (online), and Associate Professor Han Liang from Ecole Centrale de Pékin, jointly made a demonstration for the platform construction plan. Relevant persons from the Academic Affairs Department of Beihang University and ZFAI attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the expert panel firstly listened to a detailed report by Professor Wang Liang, the person in charge of platform preparation and construction, about the platform construction background, purpose, teaching system, teaching quantification, equipment configuration and budget, site planning, etc. The report underwent thorough inquiry and discussion regarding its positioning, highlights, construction system, and infrastructural conditions for operation. Besides, the expert panel also conducted an on-site inspection of the proposed platform construction site before the meeting.

The expert panel fully recognized the construction concept and modular construction system of the general technology research and education platform for engineers. They also suggested on how the platform can systematically support talent training programs, enhance the synergy among various modules within the platform, and integrate the platform with cutting-edge industry technologies.
In the future, the Institute will optimize the platform construction plan by incorporating valuable opinions and suggestions from the expert panel, and fully leverage the unique advantages of the higher education systems of China and France engineering training and the cultivation of industrial science capabilities, to enhance the integration between industry and education, as well as the integration of research and education, thus creating a high-level and international platform for high-quality training of excellent engineers and innovators.
