Recently, the final round of the 2nd China Postdoctoral Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition concluded in Yantai, Shandong Province. Dr. LU Junyan, a post-doctoral researcher at ZFAI, won the gold prize.
Dr. LU Junyan's team focused on the field of remote sensing information technology. They conducted research on key technologies for intelligent extraction of information related to pine wild disease. They have developed unique methods, including semi-automatic labeling of forested areas in remote sensing data based on large-scale zero-shot segmentation, data augmentation for small-sample data of pine wild disease using generative artificial intelligence, and transfer learning for pine wild disease based on pre-training and fine-tuning of large-scale cross-modal models. These innovations enabled the fine-grained extraction of pine wild disease from hundred-scale samples and will effectively support modern monitoring methods, such as satellite remote sensing and aerial surveillance, for establishing a comprehensive, accurate, and efficient monitoring system for pine wilt disease.
During his postdoctoral tenure, Dr. LU Junyan, in collaboration with Professor HU Qinglei, a renowned "Changjiang Scholar" appointed by the Ministry of Education, jointly established a research platform specializing in micro and nanoscale control. With outstanding technological innovation capabilities and resources in a broad range of scientific disciplines of the Lab of Aircraft Control Integration Technology and the Lab of Inertial Technology, two national-level key laboratories, as well as Control Science and Engineering, a discipline of Beihang University nominated for the national "Double World-Class Project", Dr. Lu has achieved a series of practical achievements in various fields, including multisource satellite data fusion, space-based target perception, remote sensing information technology, and artificial intelligence. The related work was awarded the National Technology Invention Second Prize, the National Defense Technology Invention First Prize, and the First Prize in Natural Sciences from the Chinese Association of Automation.
In the future, further resources will be invested into the development of research platforms and the construction of a series of cutting-edge facilities at Beihang Hangzhou International Campus. These platforms will provide faculty staff with advanced research equipment, an open and inclusive research environment, and a rapidly evolving academic stage, facilitating the postdoctoral researchers to further unleash their innovative and entrepreneurial potential.
China Postdoctoral Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition is the largest, highest-level, and most extensive national postdoctoral event in China. The final round of this year's competition was held on October 26, with the theme of “Intelligence Empowering Development, Innovation Leading the Future”. The competition was divided into four groups (innovation group, entrepreneurship group, overseas group, and challenge group) and seven tracks. 1457 teams participated in the final round, and 55 gold awards, 109 silver awards, and 164 bronze awards were presented after fierce competition.
