On May 20, Emmanuel Peter, Vice President of École d'Ingénieurs Généraliste du Numérique (EFREI Paris), and Salim Nahle, Head of the Department of Data and Artificial Intelligence, visited the Hangzhou International Campus of Beihang University. Dong Zhuoning, Director of the Hangzhou International Innovation Institute of Beihang University (H3I), Zhang Wei, Vice Director of H3I, and Chen Chao, Director of the International Cooperation Office, met with the delegation. Li Ying and Wang Shuai, two professors from the Data Science and Intelligent Computing Laboratory, attended the meeting.
Dong Zhuoning elaborated on H3I’s plan on strategic development and features of international education. He used the “bridges” on the campus as a metaphor to express his vision to establish a long-term partnership with EFREI Paris. He expected that the two parties could enhance cooperation in talent training, scientific research, and faculty building, thereby jointly training high-level professionals with international perspectives.
Emmanuel Peter spoke highly of the Hangzhou International Campus of Beihang University for its modern teaching facilities, strong academic atmosphere, and beautiful campus environment. He said that EFREI Paris and H3I had broad cooperation prospects in data science, artificial intelligence, and other cutting-edge technologies. He expected to achieve complementary advantages and mutual benefits by implementing specific projects.
During the meeting, the two parties engaged in productive discussions on topics such as student exchange programs and curriculum design. The delegation expressed keen interest in H3I’s high-quality teaching resources and advanced research platforms for artificial intelligence and data science. On this basis, they hoped to foster substantive cooperation in student exchanges and internship opportunities.
During the visit, the delegation visited the Data Science and Intelligent Computing Laboratory. They gained detailed information on the laboratory’s computing infrastructure development, experienced the multimodal interaction function of XHang AI Assistant, and exchanged ideas with laboratory staff on the application of large model technology and the development trend of artificial intelligence. In addition, the delegation visited the library, smart classrooms, and student apartments. They highly praised the Hangzhou International Campus of Beihang University for its overall facilities and conditions.
This visit further deepened the mutual understanding between the two schools and laid a solid foundation for their future cooperation. Both parties agreed to take this exchange as an opportunity to accelerate the implementation of specific cooperative projects and jointly promote Sino-French educational cooperation in data science and artificial intelligence.
