Creating immersive virtual scenarios
The VR language teaching laboratory of the Hangzhou International Innovation Institute of Beihang University (H3I)
has been launched
Foreign language teaching is empowered by digital intelligence
providing a new immersive experience
The laboratory has integrated
conversational interaction with virtual characters, voice recognition
simulation of realistic scenarios, and other functions
to create an all-round, multi-sensory, and immersive
environment of learning
With these simulated scenarios,
students can interact and converse with virtual characters
thereby enhancing their listening and speaking skills in foreign languages and
their ability to communicate effectively in different contexts
When digital technology is integrated with humanities and arts

Offering new dishes and upgraded services

the North Canteen has been completely transformed
A new wonton and dumpling stall has been set up on the first floor
offering dozens of fillings
such as pork and scallion, three delicacies with pork, and more
that will comfort the stomach and warm the heart
The smart cooking robot has been put into use
It ensures precise heat control and consistent flavor
while eliminating fumes or splashes during cooking
The automatically sealed pot keeps the food fresh
ensuring that every dish reaches its optimal taste
Limited-supply extra-large dishes have been added to the menu
perfect for sharing with friends
These dishes include stewed beef with potatoes, boiled fish combined with Sichuan pickles in golden soup, and boiled pork slices
Exquisitely prepared dishes with different flavors are offered every day
Just come and enjoy them with your mates
The water bar has launched new products, awakening your taste buds in spring
They include iced lemonade, orange-flavored drink, and fruity “bucket”
There are fresh fruits and rich vitamin C supplements

The dining options on the B1 floor have been enriched

has launched remote borrowing and data-sharing services
The library that covers the three campuses in Beijing and Hangzhou
has launched remote borrowing services for printed books
allowing books to travel thousands of miles
from the foot of the Yan Mountains to the shores of West Lake
If the outcome of the search at the local library in Hangzhou shows
the book is not in the collection or already checked out, and no e-book version is accessible
students can apply online for remote borrowing from the Beijing campus
as long as the book is available there
In addition, the Library of Beihang University (Hangzhou)
and its counterpart in the Beijing campus
have jointly constructed, shared, and connected
more than 100 databases
The IP direct access service for electronic sources has also been launched
Our cooperation with public libraries in Hangzhou
is deepening
Teachers and students are now entitled to
the interlibrary borrowing services
launched by Zhejiang Library (zjlib.cn)
and Hangzhou Library (hzlib.net)
