(By Pan Yu) The official website of the Young Envoys Scholarship (YES) Program of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) recently published a list of recommended projects for 2025. Three projects of the Hangzhou International Innovation Institute of Beihang University (H3I) were selected. These projects were recognized for their prominent theme, distinctive features, and rich content. This marks another major achievement made by H3I in international exchange and cooperation, demonstrating its substantial strength in running an international school.

The three projects are as follows: “New Aviation and New Energy,” “Cultural Horizons: Sino-French Youth Exchange in Language and Culture,” and “Sino-French Scientific Cooperation and Practice: A Cross-Cultural Internship Experience.”

Backed by H3I’s Smart Aviation Center, the “New Aviation and New Energy” project focuses on cutting-edge technologies in the aviation industry. The project integrates the strengths of diverse disciplines, including aviation, energy, and data science, to facilitate international exchange and cooperation in new aviation and new energy technologies. It helps young people learn more about industry trends and jointly promote the high-quality development of smart civil aviation. The “Cultural Horizons: Sino-French Youth Exchange in Language and Culture” project is designed to create a platform for language learning and cultural exchange between Chinese and French youths. Through a variety of activities, the project helps them delve into historical and cultural knowledge, social contexts, and technological development of both China and France, thereby further enhancing mutual understanding and friendship. The “Sino-French Scientific Cooperation and Practice: A Cross-Cultural Internship Experience” project centers on scientific research collaboration between China and France. The project helps young people gain deeper insights into the environment of scientific research and the process of industrialization in both countries by enhancing their professional capability and research literacy and promoting the training and cooperation of young researchers from China and France.

Seizing this selection as an opportunity, H3I will build a broader exchange platform for young Chinese and foreign people by following the guidance of Beihang University’s UPS Global Engagement Plan, adopting the blueprint of “1+N” diversified international cooperation, and adhering to the orientation of “advanced standing, new model, and international vision”. The institute will educate more outstanding students who possess international perspectives, cultural competence, and an innovative spirit. By doing so, it will play a greater role in meeting the national strategic needs and in promoting global exchange and cooperation.

About the YES Program

China has launched the YES Program to carry out an important initiative made by Chinese President Xi Jinping. He urged to invite 50,000 American students to China on exchange and study programs in the next five years while increasing the number of French students studying in China to over 10,000 and doubling the scale of European youth exchanges within the next three years. CEAIE is the program leader. The YES Program aims to integrate high-quality resources from schools across China, enrich the curriculum content, and diversify the forms of activities, thereby providing more high-quality platforms and channels for young people who come to China for exchange activities. The program includes but is not limited to projects of intercollegiate exchange, language learning, short-term learning, winter/summer schools, internships, preparatory courses, and exchange activities such as winter and summer camps.
